King of the Boys: Chapter 6
My dad is a character. He loved Laurel and Hardy as a kid and hung out at Bob's Big Boy with James Stacy as a teenager.... Plus my dad had two notorious uncles. One uncle was the Head G-Man for Warner Bros. during the Red Scare. The other uncle tried to save Barbara Graham and hung with Mickey Cohen...

This is a great part of the story. We sons are always in part a "chip off the old block" of our dads. Having been adopted at age 4 by my step-father, I never quite felt like I was in the right family. Once I met my birth-father, I realized how much of my personality was formed before I even knew it.
Listening to your neighborhood stories, I realize how much I missed growing up in rural Virginia, playing by myself in the woods.
Awesome dad advice, "Keep your eye on the ball..." that gets used for so many things.
The audio is staying nice and clean and your storytelling experience shows through in the way that you kept me interested in hearing your whole episode in one shot.
G.I. Joe = Barbie with guns. I love it.
I gave a sigh of relief when your dad stepped in and saved you from yourself (and "Steve")! He sounds pretty cool.
Keep it up, Lance. I'm liking the stripped down to bare bones storytelling about your boyhood days. Thanks for continuing to make the effort.
